Supporting Change
At the core of everything I do and believe in is wildlife preservation. It is why I do what I do. It is what brought me into wildlife photography. And from the first moment I looked down the lens into the eyes of a lion and had that intimate connection I knew that my photos had to be about showcasing amazing wildlife and natural places. The more we educate and promote wildlife, their stories and challenges, the greater the collective effort to conserve and protect their natural spaces.
Wildlife conservation is not simply about the wildlife. There is a symbiotic relationship that needs to be nurtured between them and the communities that surround their lands. These communities, often, are marginalised, left behind in a modern world that moves at an evolutionary pace beyond the realms of the natural world. It is not, however, a pace that goes unnoticed by the communities themselves. We live in a world where financial empowerment is key. Communities need funds to survive. They need a means of generating revenue. And if we are to ask them to give up land and expansion for the preservation of wild animals, whether we like it or not, they need to realise a financial benefit and have incentives to conserve and protect the wildlife living at the edge of their existence. Only by removing human-wildlife conflict can we hope to conserve and protect our incredible natural world.
The endeavours below are ones I believe in whole-heartedly. They do incredible work on the front-lines of conservation.
For the benefit of the wildlife. For the communities. For the future.
