These two brothers had already spent most of the day looking for a female whose scent they had picked up earlier. They were wonderfully active throughout the day, climbing trees to scan the horizons, calling for her, muttering to themselves and endlessly wandering without success.
At this small waterhole in Olare Motorogi Conservancy, they paused temporarily in their pursuit to rest on the high ground above the water as storms built on the horizon. I positioned myself where I believed the cheetahs would come and where I would be able to be below them and able to use my wide-angle lens to capture the building storm clouds behind the cheetah. Prediction, position and patience all paid off in this shot as the cheetah walked along the rim around the water hole towards me, paused, and stretched in an elegance at odds with the building chaos behind him. _85A4318
